Brokers: Find Real Estate Investors in these 3 Creative Ways

One of the questions we often get from our brokers is, “How do I find investor clients?” That’s why we have dedicated a lot of time to expanding our Broker Marketing Resources and providing regular tips on how to market to real estate investors. While digital marketing, including email marketing and social media marketing, can be highly effective, there are also some great ways to get out in the community and go find these investors. Here are three tried-and-true, creative methods:

  1. Real Estate Investor Associations (REIA's)

    REIA's are a fantastic opportunity for networking, making it easy to meet real estate investors and the people they work with regularly (think property managers, lenders, etc.). Bonus, REIAs are very educational and offer ample industry insights. To find a local REIA, visit the National Real Estate Investors Association or MeetUp.com.

  3. Real Estate Events

    There are tons of annual industry events that are great for meeting investors. Here are a handful to check out:
    • Pitbull Conference: A two-day event for real estate professionals focusing on a wide range of topics pertaining to real estate based private money financing.
    • Single Family Rental Summit: This subject brings together top subject matter experts and skilled single-family rental practitioners.
    • Five Star Conference and Expo: Expect exhilarating keynotes, educational academic labs, and of course, endless networking with investors.
  4. Property Auctions

    Property auctions are another good avenue to meet investors. To find one in your area, here’s a few places to look:
    • Auction Websites: We recommend Auction.com and Hudson & Marshall.
    • Newspapers: Auctions are typically in the legal notices section of your local paper.
    • Google Search: Simply type “foreclosure auctions” and your city into your browser.
